White Bread

White Bread

4 C warm water
2 Tbsp yeast
1 Tbsp salt
1/3 C oil
2/3 cup sugar
10-12 cups flour

Pour water into a large mixing bowl.  Add yeast, salt, oil and honey and 5 cups of flour.  Mix to combine.  Gradually mix in an additional 5 cups of flour, 1 cup at a time until dough is smooth.  Knead by hand for  5-10 minutes. Cover with dish towel and let dough rise until doubled in size. Grease 3 loaf pans. Set aside. Punch down dough, turn onto a floured surface. Knead gently to remove air bubbles. Divide dough into thirds, knead each section a few  times.  Shape into loaves and place into prepared pans. Cover with a dish towel and let rise 30-45 minutes.  Dough is ready when you can press down slightly and your finger and the dent remains.  Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 30 minutes.  Immediately remove from pans.  Cool on wire racks.   Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
