Smothered Pork Chops
4 large pork chops, bone in, about 1 inch thick
1 tsp poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp butter
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp flour
1 1/2 C chicken broth
1/4 C buttermilk
1/4 C water

Season pork chops on both sides with poultry seasoning, salt
and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet and brown pork chops on both sides. Remove
pork chops and set aside. Remove any cooking oil from the skillet. Add butter
to the skillet. Turn heat to medium and add onions, browning slowly for about
15 minutes. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute more. Add flour and cook for
about 2 minutes more. Pour in chicken broth, buttermilk and water. Simmer for about
15 minutes. Add pork chops back into the skillet, turn heat to low and let
simmer for about 10 minutes before
serving.
