French Bread


French Bread

1 1/2 C warm water
¼ C oil
4 C bread flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. yeast

Place everything in a bread maker, set on dough cycle.  After the dough cycle is done, take the dough out, divide it into two balls and shape into French bread loaves. Place on a baking sheet. Make slashes across the top with a sharp knife and allow the bread to rise for about an hour covered with a towel in a draft free place. When dough has risen bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
